This was the best accommodation we stayed in during our trip around Tasmania. The hosts were really friendly and helpful. The freshly made bread eggs and ham provided for breakfast was exceptional. The bed was so comfy and the view of the Richmond bridge from the window made it the perfect spot.

Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania.
Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania. A gorgeous sandstone convict built bridge, colonial buildings, the old Richmond Historic Gaol, the Rivers Arm Hotel. The walk along the river is lovely and lots of happy ducks. Crafty shops. Well worth a visit. Wish I had stayed longer.

The Richmond area had a lovely village atmosphere and worth staying a night or two. Australia's oldest bridge, quality cafes - Czegs, Richmond Arms for pub food and great little shops - a lovely town.

For those of us from the big mainland cities, like Sydney...
For those of us from the big mainland cities, like Sydney and Melbourne, all of Tasmania, is a breath of fresh air. We flew into Hobart early in the morning and went straight to Richmond. Automatic relaxation. All you need to do is walk up and down the main street. There are a coffee, shops, restaurants, bars, antique shops. The opening and closing hours are a little unpredictable and no matter what time of year you will need summer and winter clothes because once the wind comes, it’s cold.

So many beautiful historical buildings, picture perfect...
So many beautiful historical buildings, picture perfect postcards everywhere you look! Old Richmond Gaol was an interesting tour too. Easy to walk around town and we had a delicious meal at the Richmond Arms.
The room is compact but perfectly adequate for two people. The winners here were the extra, thoughtful little touches that set this accommodation apart from most we have stayed in. Equally, no bargain priced appliances or fittings were to be found, only good quality throughout. Scrupulously clean and tidy, Just two minutes walk to the main street, it would be hard to find fault with Richmond Barracks (We were in "The Cellar" room - lovely!).
The historic cottage was a lovely oasis, pretty as a picture, clean and beautiful inside. Everything for a comfortable stay was provided including fresh little vases of flowers. Frome the large windows there were views over the farmland and the location is very handy for sightseeing around Richmond and the Eastern Bays. The wood heater was a real bonus and the cottage stay was a highlight of the trip.
Working farm with sheep, horses, chicken and maltese dogs. The kids loved it, we had lots of space in our room which still had the 70s / 80s style decor. Worn, but clean. Old childrens books at dinner room. Food came quickly, and wine glasses were poured to the brim. Scrambled eggs, tea and toast for brekkie with OJ from Woolworths. Nothing fancy, very unpolished but with heaps of charm.
Owner was friendly and helpful and had switched on the heat before we arrived so the place immediately felt cosy. Loved the decor - very comfortable and the antique furnishings were lovely. The facilities were excellent and would support a longer stay. Brilliant location on the main street of Richmond. Would definitely return for a longer visit if we return to Tasmania.
We loved the location & the view. Very peaceful & great stars at night. Easy access from the airport & close to Richmond.
Loved the little bags of “sheep snacks” decorated by the owner’s children. Really nice to have fresh fruit, milk, bread & cereal supplied, as we arrived on a late plane.
Beautiful room & very clean.
After arriving in Hobart we wanted to travel a short distance from the Airport for our first night then set off the next day to Queenstown to see the West Coast. We were also able to visit Pooley wines just 2 minutes from Richmond Arms Hotel. Richmond Arms serve Devonshire teas and have a good Food Menu.
Everything

I would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone looking for a homely farm stay with an amazing little town called Richmond just seconds away.
Such a nice and cosy cottage in a very convenient location. Just a 1-2 min drive to the main street with shops and restaurants. Breakfast was also superb! Maureen was super friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay here again next time i visit tassy :)
Breakfast had a personal touch and was delightful. The location is faultless and we loved the relaxed style of the hosts. The buildings and gardens are amazing. The best stay on our tour of Tassie - we wished we had allowed more time there.
A lovely cottage which has been beautifully maintained. Port and chocolates supplied were a lovely surprise. Perfectly situated to walk to restaurants and attractions. The cottage is very quiet and the bed comfy.
it was just fantastic it was so well presented and so clean. The extra touches like fresh eggs, bacon, bread and home made granola gave the stay the big WOW factor. Such a cute cottage.
Quaint little property just outside Richmond Main Street. We only stayed for a night but the hosts was both lovely attending to our requests very promptly. Will recommend this property.
