Location was great. Very near Triabunna jetty to Maria Island. Mary made delicious croissants and choc au pain as well as the yummiest hard boiled eggs for us. If lucky, you get to see bunnies and wallabies from your room. Lots of birds too.

Excellent location on a working farm with great views of the mountains. The place was very modern and clean. Despite the cool evenings it was warm without the a/c. Bed was comfy and a large tv screen. Very friendly staff.

This property presents itself as a grand house. The location is awful - in the middle of scrubby bush, up a bad dirt track, near no towns, or beach, or hill, or stream, or pubs or cafes, or anything. No gardens, no lawns, no car park It is described as in Buckland. Buckland is a tiny village of a half dozen houses. This house is nowhere near it, and is about 12 to 15 k from the village. The house is big, but to call it the Great House is laughable, it looks like someones white elephant. There is a sitting room one can use and the bedroom is upstairs. All of the rest of the house is locked off. This is really a bedroom in a large, badly built, suburban style house. The housekeeper does the best she can- helpful on check-in, and the house is clean and tidy, but this can't compensate for the fact that the location and quality of this property are not up to the description. The outside of the building is run-down, and the whole place looks abandoned. Once you are shown to your room, you are left alone in the property. No TV in the room, no amenities, nowhere to walk or go to. Breakfast, in the room fridge, for 2 was 2 slices of bread, a banana, an apple, an orange. It was not served in the upstairs living area (which is actually a corridor) it wasn't served at all! No evening meals is available or served, in fact there is no-one there in the evenings. I simply cannot understand the other reviews.

    A very quiet village.

A very quiet village. I recommend a visit to the historic Twamley Farm that is offered by the host. We used Buckland as a base , staying two nights and doing a day trip to Maria Island. The cottage was a wonderfully relaxing place to unwind after a hard day's walking on the island. We prepared our own food but could have made a delicious meal with the gourmet supplies available at the cottage. We were travelling as a couple with a teenage son. Having 2 living areas meant the boy could have his own space. As the 2 bedrooms only had double beds it would be unsuitable for a family with more than 1 child.
