Set 34 km from Kaalvoet Vrou Statue, Sasi Africa Luxury Tented Bush Lodge offers accommodation with a patio, as well as an open-air bath and a bar. I loved just sitting on my deck of my glamping tent and listen to the wind in the trees and the birds. Tents were very comfortable, good bed, beautiful bathroom and I woke up on a cold morning where I made a fire and took a warm bath, a relaxing place to be. Staff is very kind. There’s one gamedrive per day included where nature is beautiful, there are no elephants but this means beautiful trees. You can book a drive to see rock art of earlier people. Food is very good, creative with great combinations of tastes and spices. We were sad to leave.

The breakfast basket for two was enough to feed all three of us for dinner (sausages, bacon and eggs with toast) and breakfast (yoghurt, muesli etc)

Amazing view, both from the room and the hot tub. The unit is spacious and great for self catering as it already has the essentials - even a dishwasher. Close to a lot of tourist attractions. Awesome hosts.

Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum. We loved the spaciousness of the unit and the fact that it was pet friendly. The yards are also very spacious. We also enjoyed being off the grid and not experiencing loadshedding.

Featuring inner courtyard views, Penwarn Farm Lodge offers accommodation with patio, around 26 km from Himeville Museum. The Penwarn manor was a wonderful, clean 16 sleeper self-catering house for a family stay in scenic Underberg.

Very clean, great view, loved the extra detail with flowers on the bed and next to the cups. They go the extra mile for you with this service.

J&B Lodge offers accommodation in Underberg, a 12-minute walk from Major Adventures and a 16-minute walk from Medical facility (Underberg). The property features mountain and garden views. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, even having a hair dryer, a rarity in South Africa! The setting, with sweeping views of the mountains, is spectacular, and the location is very convenient, just a short drive from restaurants in Underberg. Barry, our host, was warm, friendly, and very helpful!

Featuring a bar, Greenfire Drakensberg Lodge is located in Kruisfontein. The property is solar powered and offers Canadian-style log cabins. Beautiful location with stunning views and nice walking trails. The cabins were very cosy. At night it got quite cold, but there was a fireplace in the bedroom and the staff put warm water bottles in the beds. The meals were great and so were the staff and the dogs! We had a great time here, highly recommended!
