We got a balcony room overlooking the mountain and towns below, as well as the pool and cute bar area downstairs. The room itself is quite small, but the bed was great and we really stayed here to be near the scenic area and Fisgas de Ermelo, the truly epic waterfall within a 20 minute drive of the property through the beautiful mountain area. The host was great, friendly to talk to and gave us some great tips (plus a quite good affordable bottle of wine for the evening). Make sure to bring dinner with you or stop before you come for the evening as there is nothing in the immediate area. Breakfast was quite good too. There is also a pool and hot tub, although it was too cold for us to use those (even in July). Overall, if you're driving through the area, it's worth a stop!

The owner Jorge, and his son Daniel were very friendly and helpful. Jorge spoke very good english, and his son Daniel spoke perfect english. We expressed an interest in food to them, and they made some great suggestions, and even did something more personal for us. The house was very large, but also very clean, which is somewhat rare for a large rental house. The materials used in the recent refurbishment were high quality, and didn't feel "cheap". There was excellent water pressure in the showers, and plenty of hot water for showers. The internet is fiber, and I got approximately 100mbps, with 6ms latency. The daily fresh bread delivery was perfect for us. The house is about 10 minutes from the main city of Braganca, but it is an easy drive, and we didn't miss being IN the city.

Situated only 12 km from Natur Waterpark in Peso da Régua, Casa das Vinhas Velhas by Casa do Poço features accommodation fitted with a balcony, garden and seasonal outdoor pool. The house is in the vineyard, the view from the terrace is stunning. It's very quiet and relaxing in the place. The hosts are very nice people. We asked for a wine tasting, and they gave us an excursion that was really interesting and with a special homey touch (unlike the big wineries). Would definitely like to visit them again! Oh, and looking at the pictures I wasn't sure that the sofa would be comfy to sleep for my child. But unfolded it turned out to be very comfy.
