We were looking for somewhere quiet and secluded with amazing views. And we couldn’t have found anywhere better on all three counts. Idyllic.

Essence Arenal is an ecological hotel surrounded by Tropical Forest that offers a wellness center to tourists, it is surrounded by gardens and beautiful views of Lake Arenal, the Arenal Volcano and... It rained quite a bit while we were there, but the tent held up nicely and we never had any problems with water. Even though it didn't seal up as well as a normal tent, we also didn't have any issues with bugs. Sadly, we never were able to catch the volcano during our stay in it's full glory, but the view of both the volcano and the lake are unbeatable. The property itself is quite large and had a nice short hike through the jungle to visit the farm on location. The staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant, both from the hotel and the restaurant. We had breakfast both days we stayed plus an "Essence Arenal Happy Meal" packed lunch for our day of hiking. The food was always fresh and delicious - they mentioned that most (maybe all?) of it comes from their own farms. The restaurant really had a family atmosphere and you feel at home. The common area with hot tub just outside was nice and we ended up meeting and hanging out with some great people there. Though it's not a hostel, it definitely had that kind of feel to it from a social aspect. The shared refrigerator was good to have as well. We also were able to borrow some plastic wine glasses from the restaurant for one night.

Featuring an extensive garden, furnished terraces with natural pools and rainforest-mountains views, the eco-friendly Rancho Margot is 700 metres from Caño Negro River and 3 km from Arenal Lake. The place is very well integrated in the nature and environment, very beautiful and relaxing. Many activities included in the price which kept us busy for 2 days (farm tour, yoga, pools). Very professional, friendly and polite staff made our stay even more enjoyable. Very good eat-as-you-want meals. We were picked up at the bus stop in La Fortuna which was very helpful.

Ubytovanie Love Cabin - Arenal Volcano & Lake views sa nachádza približne 25 km od miesta Vodopád La Fortuna. Ponúka výhľad na záhradu a hostia tu majú k dispozícii terasu a balkón. The views were wonderful, just what we needed. The lake really brought some peace for us. Being able to enjoy some of the tourist attractions and returning to the quiet open spaces of the love cabin was very special for us. The cabin provided plenty of room for us. We enjoyed our mornings on the deck and had great views of the volcano daily. Definitely a place we will return to
