Our stay at Utupoa was probably one of the best weeks of our lives! After having just climbed Mount Kilimanjaro a relaxing week in Zanzibar is what we sought and Utupoa was literal paradise. With the beach literally on the back door and the incredible vibes of this extensive tree house- like building it was the most idyllic location. I can’t not mention Joyce, the owner. Joyce was the kindest, funnest and most caring woman, who made sure everything we wanted was catered for and was just a lovely person to chat to over dinner. The food was the best food I’ve ever had and all the staff were incredibly kind and friendly, with a special mention to peter and matty, our two drivers for the week. Overall the best accommodation with the best people.

The breakfast is really good. We didn't have dinner but we assume the food from the dinner menu is just as good. The staff and manager Anna are very nice and helpful. We were allowed to check in early and leave late at no extra cost and they helped us arrange a transfer for a fair price. They have free bikes to use and offer a free shuttle to the beach at 10am and returning at 2pm. Definitely recommended.

The intimate 7 bedroom hotel has a beautiful location and the beach is private and secluded. The rooms are very comfortable, well-appointed, and have gorgeous views of the sea from large, wooden balconies. The local staff are friendly, hospitable, and go out of their way to meet your every need if they are able to. The in-house massage therapist is incredible and the pool was lovely.

We had a beach front hut and lay on our beach beds each morning and behind our accommodation was the pool, so we had the best of both worlds. The sea breeze was amazingly cooling. The staff were super friendly and the management excellent. Each Tuesday and Friday there were live jazz/afrobeat bands playing, which had almost everyone up dancing. Loved the vibes. Definitely the best place to stay in this location. All in all, an amazing stay.
