Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

아름다운 곳 입니다. 이곳에서는 당신이 소비하는 것을 당신을 대신해 호스트가 자연에 돌려줍니다. 아침에 화장실에서 바라보는 고요한 풍경, 매일 밤 당신과 함께 걷는 별빛들... 화장실로 걸어간다는게 이렇게 예쁜 일 인 줄 몰랐어요. 빛이 없어야만 별빛이 이렇게 아름다운 줄 몰랐습니다. 남섬을 3주간 여행하며 이 모든 아름다운 자연들이 경이롭고 놀라웠습니다. 이 숙소에 머물면서 자연을 위해 무언가 조금이나마 노력을 했었고, 다시 돌려 줄 수 있는 기회를 얻은 것이 감사했습니다. 다음에는 더 오랫동안 이곳에서 쉬어가고 싶습니다.

레스토랑의 음식이 훌륭했다. 작지만 잘 관리되고 직원들도 매우 친절했다. 위치도 길 건너면 바로 바다가 있어서 좋았다.

Filip and Sonya were fabulous hosts-very hospitable and generous with information and recommendations. The shuttle service to Abel Tasman made a day tramping in the park seamless. We enjoyed the accommodations so much we were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by one day. Pōhara is an excellent location for visiting the Golden Bay and I can’t recommend the Bay Lodge highly enough.
