Looking for a capsule hotel?

Developed in Japan, these cheap “pod” hotels are a novelty for any traveler. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodations are basic and intended to be overnight. There's separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms. Some capsule hotels also have a sentō – a Japanese bath house, usually for male guests only.

APODS is very conveniently located right in front of the train station. I could leave my luggage and immediately walk over to Himeji castle without a fuss. The appearance of the building is very unassuming, but the hostel is very clean and modern, with great facilities and amenities provided. Very worthwhile accommodation on a budget!

Extremely convenient location, nice building setup, good facilities, tasty breakfast, and, above all, incredibly friendly, thanks to Tomo-san. The sort of place where you really feel very sorry when you’re leaving that you can’t stay longer. I’d love to visit again!

Very convenient location if travelling by train with big suitcases as it is just outside the station , well equipped (laundry machines available), very nice breakfast buffet. We booked the japanese style room ( larger) and doubled the futon mattress (available in closet) which made it very comfortable.

As a capsule hotel, couldn’t have asked for more. Clean, plenty of shower and bathroom facilities, and the wifi was good.

It was literally around the corner from the station, very convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. Towels, loungewear, slippers and a toothbrush are included. There is shampoo and soap available too. There is space to lock your suitcase, but it's still accessible if it doesn't have a lock. There's a small locker inside your capsule which fitted my winter jacket and my backpack. There's also a TV and small table inside. The light inside the capsule is adjustable in brightness. Overall really nice!

A well-presented, pleasant capsule hotel. There are changing rooms, which is convenient. The lounge space with a free drinks selection was very good.

Unlike Europe, and what we consider as hostels, this Japanese capsule hotel is spacious, tidy and the people are respectful and avoid noise and commotion. This actually results in some unexpectedly long and sound sleep. The bathroom is quite big and super clean as well!

The staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a grand buffet offering so many tasty dishes for both Japanese and western tastes. The public bath had a lovely hot bath landscaped with natural rocks and a small waterfall as well as other bath options. The lobby had a small play area to entertain children while parents. Planned their day. There were coin operated washing machines as well as vending machines and an ice dispenser. A free shuttle bus takes you from the hotel to the station.

The location is excellent, the room came with good useful facilities, friendly attentive staff, decent vending machines. Also for central Himeji will struggle to find cheaper with private bathroom.
