Fossatún
At Fossatun Camping Pods, there is access to extra convenience, such as a service house with shared bathroom facilities, communal changing rooms and showers, plus a private shower. There are also two shared equipped kitchen and dining houses plus outdoor barbecue facilities. The facilities were wonderful and the bed was very comfortable and it was in a remote enough location to see the northern lights

When we arrived, the door of the appartment was unlocked and the keys were inside. The house was very clean and quite luxurious. As two friends, one slept on the bed and the other on the sleep couch. Both slept great, good matrasses and when waking up, a solid beautiful view over the bay.
The house was very clean and spacious! The kitchen was equipped with everything you can imagine and generally the guesthouse had home away from home vibe ! Also since it’s far away from civilisation the northern lights were beyond perfect !! It was one of the best nights we had in Iceland!
Camp site and the trail and beach behind it is very nice. Kitchen facilities are good.
What a little gem. We expected something a little humble given it's a camp site, but we were impressed with the entire property. It is not 5 star, but for camping it was better than we are used to. The breakfast was full and fairly priced. The grounds were beautiful and adventurous for young kids. It was quiet and peaceful.
• Well equipped guesthouse • Spacious kitchen to share with a beach view • Washer & dryer available, since many places in Iceland don’t have that. (Isk 8000) • Very clean room • Several toilets and shower to share, didn’t have to wait for one even the guesthouse was pretty full • Staff are helpful :) • Location is great • Do note there are strict rules about not using the common kitchen, washer and dryer after 9/10pm. Since the common area is close to other guests room.
Very good value for money. The place is in good location, very nice scenery - near peak, waterfall and beach. surrounded by sheeps. We were out of season, so place was calm. Kitchen is very good equipped. Several shared bathrooms and common spaces as well , so no problem to find free. Very clean. Rooms are quite small. And we were in the middle of October, so it was a bit chilly at arriving, but all places are equipped with heaters, after turning the on it was ok :)
i loved the little camping pod! it was perfect for that “glamping” feel. comfortable, private, and affordable. I did like the little touches that the owner has done to incorporate troll culture into the facility. I’m looking forward to reading one of his books :)
One of the best campsites I have been to. Fabulous location of the entire complex in the vicinity of a river, waterfalls, beautiful mountains and lakes. A sizeable resort with 2 kitchens, several showers, small hot water pools, a restaurant. Lots of attractions for children, a playground and a field game in the theme of trolls. Additionally, free mini golf.
The hotel and campground is set next to a cascade waterfall and the grounds dotted with troll art and games. It is just over an hour out of Reykjavik, but seems like it is in another world. The hotel room was a good size with view of the river but the camping pods look a bit small. The troll walks are a lot of fun. The resturant both for dinner and breakfast was very good, and all of the staff were helpful.
Very cozy location close to the beach and easily reachable via a main road. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was very clean. We got an upgrade to a bigger room so that we had enough room for our stuff.
