Abdullah's uncle took us for a sunset jeep drive and helped us find an exclusive perch to view the sunset 🌇....brilliant photo op! Their location allowed me to do a short (4.5 km each way) to a hillock right opposite the Martian camp to catch a fabulous sunrise vista. Dinner and breakfast was traditional and plentiful...seeing that my wife took a fancy to their cookies ...an old gentleman at the camp stuffed our bag with a dozen of them ... just plain generous folks. One must mention Max and his cousin ..two beautiful dogs (Salukis..I think) kept the kids constant company! To end the trip, Abdullah offered our kids a free trot on their camels ...while a colleague of his helped us learn the camel lingo to go interact with the baby camels, under their mom's watchful eyes! And if that wasn't enough...they were the most competitively priced ..esp for a camp in the category offering an ensuite private bathroom. It was as though you were amongst friends.

Compared to the other camps, the location of the camp in the desert is further from the village, so if you want to get the feeling of remoteness, go for it. I had never experienced such piece and quiet in my life as I did there. Mahmoud - the guide - is an experienced nice guy with plenty of knowledge of the local customs and is sensitive to visitors´ needs. While touring through the desert, he made us a delicious lunch and answered anything we asked about the Jordan culture or family traditions.

At the luxury tent, every unit includes bed linen and towels. The owner Hassan and his helper were very kind and helpful. Ali the guide gave us an excellent tour and showed us some interesting things not on the tourist trails. They arranged camel rides at sunrise. Breakfast was quite good (included) as was the dinner (10 dinar per person). We were there at the coldest time of year and Hassan made an effort to keep us warm.

Buffet and continental breakfast options with pancakes and cheese are available each morning at the luxury tent. The staff and the location is simply great. Located at the south of Wadi Rum village allowed us to actually observe and see The Milky Way on the sky. Around 10 pm or so, they shut off the lights from the main pavilion except for small LED lights that light up the paths to the rooms like an airplane runway. Rooms and amenities were excellent and the same can be said about the food and the variety of food available.
