Hébergement de la Montagne St-Roch is situated in Saint Roch de Mekinac, near the river and 32 km from Shawinigan. Free private parking is available on site. The experience in this place has been incredible! The place is very authentic, everything is made by Michel and the whole place reflects his passion for this wonderful territory. It is not a hotel or a resort, so you need to be prepared to share facilities and spaces... and that's one of the things that people will appreciate here. The shared spaces are in the open, and they have all the necessary for cooking and storing your food. The bathroom is a beautiful little cabin made in wood, but it has hot water and a shower. The place is super clean and Michel keeps everything stocked and replaced. Food is cooked on the fire in the Tipi where you sit around the fire with other guests, but you have access to a electric cattle, camping stove, pans and plates and glasses. Our room was the Cabane: it is a few minutes walk into the woods from the "camp" and it has no electricity, but they provide a torch.. One of the best night sleep i had, no lights or noise except the wood and rain (and an occasional car on the closeby road)! The room is alsp equipped to cook and clean for longer stays. Extra points for the amzaing boat trip to see beavers offered by Michel on his boat: incredible experience!!

Went to Orford for the eclipse. The Pods were terrific, living up to the ratings by previous visitors. The proprietor was friendly and helped us with any requests we had. There's a nice trail to a Sugaring Shack (about a mile) that we walked; a bit muddy with snow this time of year, but worth going. All in all we had a great time!

The yurt was beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean, and stocked with everything you could need. The staff and owners are very friendly and hospitable. The lake is pristine and quiet. We felt very much at home and relaxed. We are sure to return for another week next year.

Nestled by Wild River, these original wood tipis in St-Romain offer rustic lodging in a forest setting. Each tipi includes access to an outdoor cooking area. Frontenac National Park is 10 km away. Amazing place, we loved stayed in the middle of the forest by the river, full contact with nature. The tipi is quite spacious, and we comfortably slept in 4 (two adults two kids). We enjoyed the bbq and fireplace. The common shower is very clean and hot. We didn’t have pillows nor blankets but the owner kindly lent us for a little extra money. Parc Frontenac nearby is very nice with lots of activities to do.

Great place for a retreat located far from people and made in very simple "farm" style. Quiet and cosy, clean. Dog friendly. Owners were very nice. We didn't speak French and they didn't speak English, but Google translate and their hospitality made everything go just great.
