Nos encantó el lugar y el trato con Rashid, ¡muy buen anfitrión! El tamaño del campamento permite un trato cercano con el personal y los otros huéspedes. Las tiendas son muy espaciosas, más de lo que parece en las fotos y están suficientemente separadas para tener privacidad unas de otras. Recomendamos la actividad de dune bashing.

Said es muy buen anfitrión, en todo momento hubo comunicación por washapp para la recogida en un punto accesible para llevarte a su campamento entre las dunas con un coche 4x4. Después pudimos beber te y cafe antes de la excursion con los coches 4x4 por las dunas. Para nosotros esto fue lo mejor de la experiencia en el desierto, luego pudimos hacer fotos con el atardecer y caminar por las dunas. Estuvo bien probar la carne de camello durante la cena asi como pescado. Finalmente acabamos la noche alrededor del fuego conversando con otros inquilinos y viendo las estrellas, fue espectacular. Por la mañana nos despertamos antes del amanecer y pudimos subir por las dunas de al lado del campamento para disfrutar de un amanecer muy bonito, la salida fue acordada a una hora conveniente para continuar con mas visitas, experiencia inolvidable

Everything! First of all we were completely alone in the middle of the beautiful omani desert: a unique experience! We loved the authenticity of the structure and of its owner, Humied (and the camels of course, the real bosses there). He is a very entertaining host: we ate together both at dinner and breakfast and we had the opportunity to talk a lot about Oman and its culture and traditions. The tent, the linens, the private external toilet were all very clean! PS: Unexpectedly, there was some sand in the tent, next time please provide us with a broom Humied 😉just joking of course 😜

The camp was just right. Comfy tents and beds (on platforms), good food. Most importantly, it was quiet: far enough from other camps and city, only four tents in camp I think. So the desert night was quiet and perfect for star-gazing. This alone deserves their high reviews. But on top of that, Mr. Ali and his staff saved me with car trouble. Somehow, I lost my rental car keys... They helped me look everywhere. I was kicking myself and preparing myself for a delay of one or two days. But Mr. Ali located a car mechanic, and the mechanic made a new key (!) for a very reasonable price. I was back on the road in 90 minutes.

My wife and I began to consider our options as we followed a stranger in a foreign country into the empty desert to stay at a camp we weren’t sure truly existed. Sure, Oman has ridiculously low crime rate, but the possibilities of what awaited us were endless. After a 20 minute drive through bedouin camps and an empty sea of sand we were relieved to find the camp as pictured on the site. However, shortly after setting up for bed, the camp was hit by a storm which was extremely rare to the area. I stood there for 30 minutes holding the pole of the tent from inside, so it didn’t collapse on us, as the rain and wind pattered the canvas. If I could go back in time to the moment we started our journey… I would do it a million times over. Thousand Stars is a passion project started by Ali and his companion, and cared for by a truly honorable and wonderful caretaker - Sadam. It is not a 5 star resort run by a board of trustees with millions of investment dollars. It is 3 men, who put their blood sweat and tears into each and every night. We started the evening off by having tea, coffee and fruits with Ali and discussing life. Shortly after, Ali ensured we were comfortable and left us to be. We were the only couple there that night so we had the whole camp to ourselves. There are usually 2-3 tents available per night. My wife and I spent some time chatting under the moonlight, but called it early as we saw a storm approaching. Sadam was working hard to cover the dining tent with a tarp so that we could be comfortable while eating dinner. The storm came, and yes, there was a short bit of time where I had to hold the tent up but this was no fault of the camp - just nature. Despite the storm, Sadam trekked over to our tent from his to make sure we were ok. Right after the storm ended I heard the roar of a car. It was Ali again, who drove all the way back just to make sure everything was ok.

Very nice immersion in the Wahiba Sands desert. The host was extremely careful of the wellbeing of his guests. Willingness to share some of the beduins traditions in a single night.

El trato del personal del alojamiento, especialmente el chico Rais es lo mejor. Muy atento, simpático y se dedica a hacer tu estancia la mejor, especialmente por la noche contando historias de su vida y su país junto al fuego junto al fuego. Las instalaciones son ideales ya que he estado en campamentos similares en otros desiertos y este es el mejor de todos.
