Well located in the centre of Funchal, Barceló Funchal Oldtown provides air-conditioned rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a fitness centre. Featuring room service, this property also welcomes guests with a restaurant and a terrace. Guests can make use of a bar. This is one of the best hotels that we've ever been to. The hotel staff was super friendly to us and other guests, the location is amazing (exactly in the old town next to cozy restaurants and the promenade), the room was spacious and stylish, the breakfast was excellent, and the pool and the bar at the rooftop were also really pleasant. I only have nice things to say about the Barcelo hotel! Tip: If you're looking for a quick yet inexpensive way to get from the airport to the hotel, consider a shuttle bus that's right next to the exit from the airport. As of Oct 2023, it's just 5 euro per person (or 8 euro for a return trip), and it'll take you to a bus stop (number 6) that's really close to the Barcelo hotel. Note that they only accept cash in the bus.

The rooms come with a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. A balcony or patio are featured in certain rooms. Every room includes a private bathroom equipped with a shower. Staff were lovely and accommodating when I needed to extend my stay. Room lovely. WiFi excellent.

Saccharum - Resort & Spa is a luxury 5-star design hotel located on Calheta Beach, between the mountains of Madeira and the Atlantic Ocean. This hotel features a rooftop infinity pool, conference rooms, a buffet and an à la carte restaurant and four bars. Our stay in Saccharum totally exceeded our expectations and this has been the best and most welcoming 5-star hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Check in and check out was quick and easy, room service great, good menu. The facilities in this hotel were outstanding, so many sun decks, pools, lounges, bars and restaurants to enjoy. Also the view to the ocean and a location was marvellous. We also enjoyed the SPA and it was a great retreat in the midst of our many hikes. Breakfast was also very good with lots of options to choose from located on the third floor with outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean. Truly remarkable stay, hospitality and amenities.

Each accommodation is elegantly decorated and includes tea-and-coffee making facilities, a minibar, and a balcony with sea views. All rooms have a seating area with a sofa. What a memorable place to stay. Both for the enchanting location and the hotel itself - which is lovely with inviting rooms, terrific views, a welcoming staff, and very fine restaurants Everything was 5*****. We loved staying here so much, we plan on returning for as long as a month. Top notch!

All Proteas’ rooms are heated and have a private bathroom. Some rooms have a kitchenette and sea views, while others have wooden sloped ceilings. Excellent choice for our trip in Madeira. The hotel is at a beautiful village near Santana and has wonderful views over the sea. The room was in perfect condition and clean. Teresa was do kind and generous with us, so that we felt like home. The breakfast was delicious with so many choices. This is a great choice to stay during holidays in Madeira. Thanks for everything!!!
