The apartment was exceptionally clean and well organised. The bed and the sofa bed were both very comfortable. The location was very convenient with easy walking access to municipal electric bicycles, shops, bakery, train station, the old port and a host of boutique cafes, restaurants and shops. There was lots of hot water, and no shortage of any bathroom necessities. Communication with the host was excellent, whom I found to be extremely helpful and organised. In particular, I appreciated the detailed information folder which was sent to us as PDF in advance, and also in printed form in the apartment. All in all, a great stay

Metro is very close, 1 min walk and the area has all you need. The owner was nice and made the check out and check in easy.

Le Transvaal Maison d'Hotes was truly a wonderful stay and Sandrine was a wonderful host. The suite was amazingly comfortable and beautifully decorated and in a fabulous location. The breakfasts were always delicious and bountiful. Sandrine was a very kind and gracious hostess, giving us plenty of insider tips about the city and working with us through the small language barrier. Our favorite stay of our honeymoon trip!

So very french and authentic . Very cool in the summer , great location although I wouldn't say suitable for those who don't like steep hills . End of the road has iconic views over the bay , quiet , excellent hosts . Washing machine was a god send , everything you need . I fell in love with Marseille !

Our flight was delayed and we were in communication with Sonia all the way. Check in was very easy and smooth! The apartment was very clean, spacious, quiet and well equipped. It was a few minutes walk to the old port. Ideal location, would definitely stay here again!

Rooms was spotless, very clean and included all you need. The kitchenette area was useful for breakfast and storing cold drinks in the fridge. There is a supermarket next door so very helpful to have it close by for snacks and supplies for the room.
