After arriving on the night train and riding up into the hills on hired mountain bikes to get here, we were able to check in early which was a blessed relief! (Note - The route that Google maps gave us on our bikes went off-road, and we had to walk part of the way uphill as it was too steep to ride the mountain trail, especially with our backpacks. You can also catch a local bus to the village to get here). The apartment was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The kids spent most of their time outside roaming up the hiking paths or riding their bikes up and down the hilly streets in the quiet village. This accommodation is on the edge of the village near the top of a hill and the view is lovely out towards the forests and mountains. We came in early spring and the trees were just starting to green up so I can see it would be even more spectacular in late spring and through summer and autumn. There were probably a dozen or so campers at all stages of life using the grounds with their tents and vans, as well as others staying in apartments, and it was peaceful with a feeling of camaraderie, no loud voices or music, just people chilling and a few kids roaming around doing kid stuff. This village and accommodation was a big contrast to Bad Schandau, which was literally crawling with cars and tourists (we were there over the Easter long weekend), and we were so glad we had not stayed in town but on this calming and chill mountainside.

It's a comfortable place that has everything you may need. It's located in a peaceful village with lots of birds singing. It's very close to an unbelievably beautiful place on a hill with an old lime tree. The hosts are very nice and helpful and the place is very clean. It's also close to the national park and the trails.

The staff was very friendly and helpful 😊. The owner gave us a lot of useful information, where to go and what to do. We had a living room, a bedroom for 3 and a bath room. It was clean and also very comfortable to use each room without disturbing each other. We had a shared fridge outside the door. There wasn't toiletries (we knew it from the booking) but they gave us when we asked. The breakfast was rich and tasty.

The apartment was just amazing! When we came we were immediately drawn to the beautiful terrace with stunning view. You can see sun setting over the beautiful village of Ottendorf and you will not want to leave. It is so calm and cozy. The flat feels just like home. Kitchen has all the equipment possible and everything is really comfy. Just behind the house you can take a hike to wonderful meadows with views and lot of hiking points of Saxon Switzerland are just close-by. The accommodation you definitely need for a chillout. You can take breakfast overlooking the forests and landscape and cute wooden houses.

ideal location of the hotel for trips to Saxon Switzerland, close to the town (shops, supermarket) hassle-free parking right next to the hotel, plenty of spaces, free, charger for electric cars good price/quality ratio possibility to use the fridge on the floor excellent breakfast, possibility of dinner in the hotel restaurant, excellent fish, nice staff enough information materials about the surroundings daily cleaning
