We really liked Betty’s Cottage and the owners were really nice. They booked our bus from Colombo to Jaffna which was a huge help, and they waited up until 4 am for us to arrive. We had only booked the place for the following night so they charged us half a day. The breakfast offered was fine, nothing to rave about. The WiFi is really good! The hosts are also nice and very dedicated to making sure we got everything we needed.

We liked the place but you do need your own transportation to get there. The accommodation has its own kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 2 beds. We got dinner from the neighbor twice and it was beyond delicious!! The walk to the beach is short. The owners are super friendly and caring, it was a pleasure to stay here. Very homely, room was large and clean with good airconditioning. The host was super nice, helpful and friendly, always around to offer help. His wife makes the most delicious home made Jaffna food, try the mutton and crab curry. The place is on a very quiet street, however, it was easy to get a tuk tuk in and out of town or to any place of interest.

Without hesitation the best place we visited in Sri Lanka (during 6 weeks),.. this place (and island itself) has special atmosphere, laid back, slow tempo,.. do not be afraid of sleeping in tent (sleep was very comfortable), or having shared bathroom (amazing open space),.. bike rent and trip around the island is highly recommended,.. plus one personal advice - do not book any other night before coming here, there is big chance you would like to prolong your stay!

The Flamingo Villa's spot-on location in the city center, just a 2-minute stroll from the Railway station, is a winner. The staff were top-notch, well-trained, and really helpful. The WiFi signal can be a bit wobbly, but it doesn't really cramp your stay.
