We had a fantastic two night stay at New Star Homestay hosted by Lasanta and his wife Gayini. It’s a beautiful serene place in a quiet, leafy part of Habarana. It is really peaceful - the garden has guava, mango, banana, custard-apple, and coconut trees - along with a variety of flowers and shrubs. Birds woke up in the morning with their songs!! The beds were very comfortable. AC worked great. Nice hot water in the shower. We also had home cooked dinners here. Gayini is an excellent cook! We ate our meals on the beautiful balcony-veranda with a cool breeze. We highly recommended this place and we will definitely be back.

He was really helping and welcoming and always with a smile. He helped us with everything: took us to Pidurangala rock, and the Golden Buda. He also offered himself to look after our luggage while we were visiting Dambulla. The guest house is amazing. The location is perfect, really quiet and in the middle of the nature, perfect for relaxing and escape from the crowds. Amazing breakfast included.. I truly recommend it.

The room was spacious and well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, TV, AC. There was also an outdoor terrace shared with one other room. The hosts were charming and very helpful in organising excursions in Anuradhapura and transfers. You can book to have dinner at the property which is a good idea as there are no restaurants nearby. Both dinners were really delicious as were the breakfasts.

The lake view Infront of the guests house is amazing. There were many birds in the lake . The room was big and clean.

They don’t have amenities so you have to bring shampoo to this guesthouse.

I loved everything second of my stay there and cannot recommend them and their place enough. First, you have them, the hosts. Kalum does everything for his guests and wants to provide with the best he knows. Will go far far beyond to assure you have the perfect stay and experience Anuradhapura to the fullest. He took everywhere he thought I might enjoy, and along the way, we would have really meaningful talks. If it wasn’t for Kalum my experience in Anuradhapura wouldn’t have been half as good. On the other hand, Nadika, an amazing cooker with the brightest smile. She made different foods every meal just to ensure I would try as much variety while I was staying there. True sri lankan food! She always explained each plate and would even put less spice for me, while I was getting used to it. Their place is also just amazing! I immediately felt at home. So so many beautiful plants, fish, and furniture. The room had everything I needed, was super clean and comfortable. And lastly, lovely Muffy. A loving dog that was so well taken care of. I feel so happy and grateful to have stayed there. Recommend it to everyone who wants an immersive sri lankan experience, along with the most genuine, humble and kind humans you’ll ever find.
