We had the loveliest time at the Gableview Forest Inn. Satoshi and Elizabeth are so kind and helped us out hugely during our stay. Satoshi is an AMAZING cook. The food was incredible, so I definitely recommend having dinner at the inn! The room was super comfortable, it was great to have our own little kotatsu and the baths at the inn (both inside and the outside one with the forest view) were divine. If we are ever back in Nikko/Japan we will definitely stay again!

Located in Nikko, 2.1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Sanga Nikko provides rooms with free WiFi access. The property is set 10 km from Kegon Falls and 22 km from Nikkō-kokuritsu-kōen. We've been to Nikko a couple of times before but this is the best place we've stayed. We felt like we hit the jackpot because it beats the competion hands down.  Incredibly warm welcome, authentic Japanese rooms with lovely touches, high quality kitchen, bathroom and entertainment areas, bikes to use, scrupulously clean. Nothing, absolutely nothing, to complain about. It's a flat 2 minute walk from the bus and train station, very quiet at night, there's a big well priced proper local supermarket around the corner (2 mins walk the other way), and lots of restaurants nearby. All too easy. For us though the best part was that we really felt cared for - Yoshi is such a kind, helpful and genuine host. No problem too big or question too hard, he guided us to areas we didn't know about around Nikko. Plus, to be honest, it was lovely to just sit and talk and connect with a local person. That's what great about travelling hey? Anyway, we loved it, our two kids loved it, and it's a perfect base. When we visit again it's where we'll stay. Don't stuff around just book this place.

Featuring a garden, Midorian is located within Nikko National Park. The property is around 1.5 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, 8 km from Kegon Falls and a 16-minute walk from Futarasan Shrine. The property is amazing. It is in a quiet location a short walk from the bus stop. We got a little stuck in the rain but once we got there it was such a welcome relief, a beautiful traditional Japanese house with tatami mats and shoji. The sounds of the nearby river flowing behind the property was extremely relaxing and really added to the serenity of the property. The host is such a nice guy, we chatted fishing and he even sent me my headphones to our next accomodation after I left them behind. Wish we could have stayed longer but with our limited time we were go go go! Thanks Midorian.
