The host was amazing. She drove us to the touristic site and at the station to catch the train on time. She prepared a wonderful breakfast even if not included. Great great experience.

Located in Nikko, 2.8 km from Tobu Nikko Station, Gableview Forest Inn ゲーブルビュー features accommodation with a hot spring bath, a public bath and an open-air bath. The best place with the best owners Elizabeth and Sotoshi were so kind. We had the best breakfast there The coffee and latte were just awesome 👍 beds comfortable Our room had two big windows so we got to enjoy birds singing. The decoration of the place is so beautiful Every time I came out of my room I spent a few minutes looking at the Japanese decorations and paintings.

Providing lake views and a garden, Chuzenji Pension offers accommodation in a prime location in Nikko, within a short distance of Kegon Falls, Chuzenji Lake and Chuzenji Temple. Super friendly and helpful staff, everyone can speak English. Food is top-notch. The view from the room is magnificent.

Located in Nikko and only 1.1 km from Kegon Falls, Okunikko Guesthouse JUN provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The building is new and cozy. I love the fireplace in winter; it keeps the space nice and warm. The room is spacious, and the bed is comfortable. There is enough space to put luggage. The bathroom and toilet are segregated by gender, while the washing station is shared. All the basic amenities are available, and you can use the laundry for a small fee. The whole space is very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, and you can see Lake Chuzenji on a clear day. The guesthouse is close to major tourist attractions (by bus), including Kegon Fall, Ryuzu Fall and Yamato Onsen. The owner is super friendly and helpful. I didn't plan the exact spots to go, and he kindly shared some attractions that I could visit for 2 days and suggest some nearby restaurants. He has a lot of knowledge about nature in the Nikko area, and I could converse well with him in English, which was helpful as I can't speak Japanese. He also let me borrow a pair of snow boots as it was snowing the day I arrived, and I didn't have proper footwear for hiking the next day. It was very thoughtful.

Located in Nikko and only 2.4 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, B&B Izumi Nikko provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Everything from the start to the end of our stay was perfect. Izumi picked us up at the train station and has made great breakfast. The B&B is lovely in a calm environment. The bus stop is only 10 min by walk to go to the mountain or city center. I recommend totally this place and the warm welcome from the host.

Located in Nikko, 2.1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Sanga Nikko provides rooms with free WiFi access. The property is set 10 km from Kegon Falls and 22 km from Nikkō-kokuritsu-kōen. We've been to Nikko a couple of times before but this is the best place we've stayed. We felt like we hit the jackpot because it beats the competion hands down.  Incredibly warm welcome, authentic Japanese rooms with lovely touches, high quality kitchen, bathroom and entertainment areas, bikes to use, scrupulously clean. Nothing, absolutely nothing, to complain about. It's a flat 2 minute walk from the bus and train station, very quiet at night, there's a big well priced proper local supermarket around the corner (2 mins walk the other way), and lots of restaurants nearby. All too easy. For us though the best part was that we really felt cared for - Yoshi is such a kind, helpful and genuine host. No problem too big or question too hard, he guided us to areas we didn't know about around Nikko. Plus, to be honest, it was lovely to just sit and talk and connect with a local person. That's what great about travelling hey? Anyway, we loved it, our two kids loved it, and it's a perfect base. When we visit again it's where we'll stay. Don't stuff around just book this place.

The Midorian had this unquantifiable fairy-tale quality to itself. Nestled in the heart of the mountains, surrounded by a cool river, under the care of a noble man.
