The room, the ofuro (hot bath), the hospitality, the cleanliness. Breakfast (optional) was excellent and very Japanese: pleasant presetation, varied food with protein from fish, egg and tofu, vitamins from salad, served with rice and miso soup - I didn't feel hungry before late afternoon.
