Room was clean, comfortable and huge with in room private onsen, kaiseki dinner and breakfast was excellent, staffs are friendly, helpful, and exceptional service.

Unsui 武雄蓬莱町 雲水 is situated in the Takeo Onsen district of Takeo, 37 km from Huis Ten Bosch, less than 1 km from Takeo-Onsen Station and 10 km from Takeo Ureshino Marchen Village. Satomi-san and her husband are incredibly kind, caring hosts! We felt so welcomed every day, and happily received many suggestions on what to do in the area -- we stayed a week, and there were many places to explore: onsens, pottery, tea, shrines, villages, strawberries, sake, seaside... Satomi-san suggested to us maps/itineraries of her favorite places, and even made reservations (the hosts speak excellent English in addition to native Japanese). Location is perfect, interactions rewarding, apartment very comfortable & Japanese, we woud love to be back! Kyushu is like its own country, and Saga prefectures with Takeo hub has everything -- without the tourist crowds, love it!

Located in Arita, 20 km from Huis Ten Bosch and 5.7 km from Arita Porcelain Park, ZOKUIJINKAN GUESTHOUSe 続異人館 provides spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful. He took our bags way before checkin and was very responsive to messages we sent back and forth when we were searching for dinner options. He’s a very interesting artist and has renovated this small house beautifully, with many careful details throughout. It’s excellent value for the money. He speaks English very well and the place was spotlessly clean. Just in case anyone else was wondering, it does have a western-style toilet and you will have it all to yourself (other accomodations called guesthouses in Japan in my experience involved shared living spaces and shared bathrooms, which wasn’t suitable for us). Hope that helps to clarify the setup. It’s also very quiet.

Cosy public bath..they had private bath which needed reservations.. Meals were very good.....location is beautiful. In the middle of the mountains....
