It's walking distance from the train station and also the boat ride for the gorge. It's also the last house on the street so it's very quiet at night. 3. Very reasonably priced for a private room. A really comfortable bed and the comforter is perfect for the cold weather as well. The room comes with an aircond/heater and also a humidifier. Towels are provided as well. 4. Showers are shared but it's no problem at all as it's kept very clean and during my stay I did not have to wait to use it. The shower gel and shampoo smells awesome. There's also a bath on the first floor that you can use by placing the magnet with your room number next to an available time slot on the board. 5. Staff were really nice and polite. I was able to store my backpack after checking out. 6. Aesthetically pleasing place as well, especially the dining area overlooking the field.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Forest Cottage Oshu. It was the perfect winter getaway - cozy and wholesome! There was snow everywhere and it felt so magical! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped. We enjoyed the nearby onsen, which is free if you stay at one of the cottages. When we came back from the onsen in the evening, the staff started a bonfire outside that just enhanced the magical atmosphere. We found a couple of sweet potatoes in a plastic bag hung at our door handle and fully enjoyed roasting them in the bonfire. Such an amazing stay!

Very friendly host, we had a late check-in and he was ready for us to arrive. The room was nice, the common area had availability of tea and coffee and lots of stuff for reading.
