Cylia and all the staff were fantastic and made sure we didn't miss anything! We are two young women and we stayed at the Ruhija Gorilla Guest house for one night and then tracked with the gorillas the next day but we would have stayed longer! Our room was fantastic, spacious, clean and with two big comfortable beds. The dinner they cooked for us was great and Cylia is careful to fulfil your every wish. Before dinner we visited the village (an experience not to be missed) we met the local people and visited the school and the orphanage; all the people are extremely kind. large four-bedroom villa with large kitchen and living facilities with excellent furniture and TV, a terrace overlooking the lake with a great view and always available staff. If the opportunity arises again, I hope to be able to return to this beautiful and peaceful place again.

great off-grid place to relax. food was excellent. balcony lodge was quit comfortable. went to sleep to sound of crickets and woke to myriad of bird calls.

The Makanga Hill Suites offer probably the nicest lodging in Kabale. The suites are based in a new and well-appointed house and are served by capable and friendly staff. Makanga Hill sits up above the hustle of downtown Kabale, with very nice grounds and rewarding views. One can pleasantly walk down across the golf course and into the City center in about 30 minutes; or you can hire the house (Benz!) SUV to drive you; and of course there is a lovely (and secure) carport if you are driving your own vehicle.

It was stunning. We’re so happy we got the room with the balcony because it had such a beautiful view and we really enjoyed staying out there. Everyone there was lovely and helpful- when we got a flat tire, they found someone (affordable) to quickly fix it for us. And the food is incredible! We are vegetarians and we had lunch and dinner (and breakfast the following morning) and it was delicious and so memorable. Make sure to bring a flashlight, it’s dark at night! And you need to be able to walk up and down lots of steps.
