Thisara and his family were the most helpful and friendly hosts They gave us advice on activities, helped organise transport in town and onto our next destination and were always available. The food was fantastic, breakfast and dinner were delicious local dishes frim their own gardens. The view was amazing, the room spacious and the bathrooms clean and a good size. If you're staying in Sinharaja , this is the place to stay

Definitely one of the best stay at Sri Lanka! Saman and his family are very welcoming hosts, the property is beautiful — you stay in the middle of the jungle with a fascinating panoramic view. Don’t hesitate to order a Sri Lankan breakfast — it’s delicious! Also I would like to mention the exciting jungle tour we had with Saman and his friends. Saman organizes unique tours — you start at one entrance and exit from another one, so you don’t go one way twice. During the tour he tells you a lot of interesting things about the nature and animals around you. Even though 14 km through the jungle can be challenging, it’s an exciting experience! Very comfortable stay. Spacious and clean rooms with all amenities. Premises maintained well by the very obliging caretaker Jayasinghe, who's cooking was delicious. Quite a large pool which was clean and very inviting. Overall great value for money.

We stayed at this guesthouse on a motorcycle trip and were surprised when Booking provided a free upgrade to a fantastic family room! It was on the top 2nd floor with two big balconies. One balcony is a spacy private lobby area that has a big table, TV, sofa, and armchairs - perfect for relaxing after rainforest adventures. Keep in mind, the budget room on the first floor is much smaller and located next to the kitchen on the 1st floor. The location is amazing! Set right on a natural turn of the Gin Ganga river, it offers a true jungle experience, especially in the evenings and nights. It's much quieter here compared to the crowded areas near the Sinharaja forest entrance. There's one minor thing to consider - there's a local school right in front, so it can get a little noisy in the mornings around 7-8am. However, we woke up at 6am anyway to watch the birds (and there were plenty to photograph!). The last 100 meters between the road and the guesthouse can be a bit challenging if you arrive in a small car. However, it's fine for a tuk-tuk or motorcycle. The owners were fantastic. Breakfast was delicious, and they offered amazing local dinners for a very reasonable price (1500 Rs per person). We also tried their pot of tea (300 Rs) and it was unlike anything we've ever had - simply fantastic! Kasun and his father are experienced guides and they can lead you on rainforest walks. Overall, this guesthouse was a perfect escape for our Sinharaja adventure. Highly recommended!

Everything is great. Mr. Bandula, the owner, who is truly exceptional and a respected figure in Deniyaya town. If your plans include staying in Deniyaya for the purpose of exploring Sinharaja, he is undoubtedly the best and coolest guide out there who knows every single inch of Sinharaja. Their warm hospitality, home made food and the cozy atmosphere at Eco Villa truly make it feel like a home away from home. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Sagara as our guide in the rainforest. He was very passionate and enthusiastic. He showed us various endemic species of birds, insects, plants and reptiles. We saw monkeys and beautiful waterfalls. Afterwards we enjoyed tea at his beautiful accommodation.
