What a beautiful place! The interior is gorgeous, thought was clearly put into every detail. It is practical and beautifully designed. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the place is quiet while in a very central location. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we arrived.

The house is amazing! It is a completely modernized old store house ("kura") with excellent facilities and comfortable sleeping. The kitchen, bath and living room downstairs are pristine and the downstairs bedroom is very comfortable. The upstairs tatami room is huge and the smell of the new tatami is wonderful. My daughter's family slept very comfortably on futon in that room. The tableware in the kitchen comes from the related ceramic gallery and is beautiful and functional. They even serve fresh fruit, croissants and rolls with butter and jam for breakfast. We appreciated everything about the house!

We actually changed and stayed in a two bedroom property also owned by Temari Inn called Madaromi, also located in Kurashiki Biken Historical district. Junko, the owner, was absolutely wonderful, welcoming us and showing us the apartment and telling us about Kurashiki. The apartment is gorgeous, clean, and very well appointed. It is newly renovated and so comfortable. The location is wonderful, in the historic quarter with easy access to fantastic restaurants, galleries, shrines, the river, and cute shops. It has a kitchen, and we were able to make breakfast. Junko recommended a fabulous yakitori restaurant nearby for dinner. The historic town of Kurashiki is definitely worth a visit, with beautifully preserved architecture of the Edo period surrounding a picturesque river. Our stay here was a highlight of our holiday. This was absolutely fabulous! The highlight of our trip and so off the beaten trail. The ryokan is stunning and right in the historic district on the canal. The 11 course dinner served in our room was delicious and such a special experience of Japanese foods. The breakfast was also delicious and traditional and served in a peaceful breakfast room. We loved the experience of the onsen, having dinner, and then taking a stroll by the canal in our yukatans. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Japan.
