Only four rooms with private bathrooms so it was really peaceful. We had breakfast with a really nice couple what made the stay even better.

Excellent well-stocked kitchen with at least 2 of everything (oven/stove, sinks, workspaces, cutting boards etc) and plenty of room for. many people to comfortable cook at the same time. Beautiful, big glass dining room looking out over lava rocks. Very welcoming staff. Clear posted rules so the place runs efficiently and well but no micromanaging staff. Also a place in the fridge and shelves outside it for extra food you can leave behind for someone else if you are traveling the next day and can't carry it with you. Very nice private showers!

Detta hotell ligger vid sjön Mývatns norra strand, 5 minuters bilresa från naturbaden Mývatn. Här finns ett gemensamt kök, en liten närbutik och cykeluthyrning. Great place to hunt for northern lights. Cosy room, although very small. Super hot radiators, which in winter saved our life :). Although the breakfast is in the village, there was a common room opposite our building where there were tables and all necessary kitchen facilities to prepare your own meal or something hot to drink. Very well equipped. We came late at night, the reception was closed, but the room key was left for us plus directions to the room. Breakfast in the village restaurant very nice. The place is right behind the post office (google maps show you a route round the whole village, don't know why).
