It was a fantastic apartment. I was a bit hesitant about shared kitchen initially. But it was absolutely fine. It was huge and exceptionally clean, had loads of utensils and cooking equipment. A full size dishwasher. So they have set up the kitchen in a way that multiple people can cook same time. They also come every morning to clean and reset the kitchen. They also give free supplies like breads, tomato, butter, oils etc. Washing machine came in very handy as this was day 7 of our Iceland trip when we stayed in Birkilauf. Rooms are very nice, neat and clean. Bathroom also looks newly done up Location is very close to all main areas like Hverir geothermal, Hverfjall Volcano and Dimmuborgir and lake Myvatn. Overall everything was great. Highly recommend.

La vista dalla nostra camera era su una piccola cascata. Il prato curato e anche le zone condivise. Struttura ben tenuta e accogliente. Consigliata!

Clean room, comfy bed. Spacious communal areas, hot tub always open and with beautiful scenario on the countryside and the animals. Delicious and generous breakfast with homemade products. We would definitely stay again, happened to see also the Northern Lights on a clear and starry night.

Situato a Reykjahlid, a 500 metri dal Lago Myvatn, il Hlid Hostel offre camere e cottage, zona barbecue, terrazza, cucina in comune e connessione WiFi e parcheggio gratuiti. the location is great and given the very limited options in the area this is a great choice. we stayed in the shared room with 4 beds and I was superafraid how it will go but went very well. the room was clean and the common kitchen area was spacios and well equiped. we spent most of the time there. the check in and check out was very efficient

Great place to hunt for northern lights. Cosy room, although very small. Super hot radiators, which in winter saved our life :). Although the breakfast is in the village, there was a common room opposite our building where there were tables and all necessary kitchen facilities to prepare your own meal or something hot to drink. Very well equipped. We came late at night, the reception was closed, but the room key was left for us plus directions to the room. Breakfast in the village restaurant very nice. The place is right behind the post office (google maps show you a route round the whole village, don't know why).
