They were very friendly and were very knowledgeable about the history of Calais which they were happy to share with me. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and the dinner was exceptional...one of the best fish I have ever had! I highly recommend stopping here for any occasion. The rooms are very unique and have a story behind them. 10 out of 10 recommend!

L'Esplanade Lille is set in the historic centre of Lille in front of the Citadel of Lille and a 14-minute walk from Lille Grand Place. Seriously, this is one of the best hotels I have booked. Ambiance is perfect. The room is lovely, large, comfortable, clean, warm and with a beautiful view. 5-10mins walk to the center and nice bars or restaurants. Breakfast was peaceful, with a nice view and appretizing.

We went here because we wanted to go to the Nausicaá museum in Boulogne-Sur-Mer. The facility where we stayed was amazing, the beds were great and the host was superkind. The breakfast that was included was absolutely amazing and quite diverse. We got some great travel tips from the host (restaurants to go to, places to visit) as well, which made our little holiday even better! It was also really great to have a swim and to meet the donkeys and the goats the owner has. We loved our stay here.

Even upgrading us to an alternative room and recommending a fantastic local restaurant. Would thoroughly recommend and would love to stay here again.

The recommendation for dinner, and spontaneous offer to call for reservations, was gracious and earned us preferred treatment at a wonderful, traditional, yet reasonably priced, establishment. we would not stay anywhere else in Calais,and look forward to our next visit.
