Casa del Montañero, a property with a garden, is set in Machachi, 39 km from Sucre Theatre, 40 km from Colonial Art Museum, as well as 40 km from El Ejido Park. Very cozy place, with a lot of space to sit around. The staff was very helpful with organizing transport. We could leave our backpack while going to cotopaxi. We really recommend the place.

Hostería Papagayo is a great place to enjoy nature. It has plenty of friendly animals (dogs, horses, lamas, chickens, rabbits, etc) and offers diverse activities (tours to Cotopaxi (around 30min from the park entrance), horse riding, night walks on the property) which we enjoyed a lot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was nice having a restaurant on site, we particularly enjoyed the grilled trout. Our room was large, clean and the chimney gave it a very cosy touch while keeping us warm after an outdoor jacuzzi session! We highly recommend this place.

Hotel Rosim Cotopaxi is situated in Latacunga and offers a terrace. The property has city and inner courtyard views. Wonderful and helpful staff. Helped with local tours, around town and airport shuttles to Quito. Definitely recommend for the area, restaurants and cafe and businesses around, bus station also walking distance. Good wifi/shower/private room. Owners treated me like family and could see everyone felt welcomed there. Would return to!

Situated in Machachi, the recently renovated Ilinizas Wasi Hospedaje-Restaurante features accommodation 40 km from Metropolitano del Sur Park and 46 km from Army Polytechnic School. What a great host and family. The price was very affordable and they even drove us around to different sites.

Situated in Chasqui, El Chasqui Guest House offers accommodation with a patio. This property offers access to a terrace, darts, free private parking and free WiFi. It is a wonderful place located among volcanoes. From here I went to climb the Cotopaxi volcano, an amazing experience I recommend to all. In the afternoon we enjoyed doing a BBQ. The place has all commodities needed.

Set in Machachi and only 38 km from Bolivar Theatre, Villa Victoria offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Large, new, modern, well-appointed room set in a small garden behind a house (so it's quiet). Cleaned daily if you so wish. Very comfortable bed. Wifi is strong and shower is hot (two essentials for me!). The kitchen (containing the breakfast area) at the back of the garden is free to use, as is the washing machine in the laundry room. Bonus! Tania and her husband are a treasure trove of information regarding climbing the volcanoes in the area. In fact, when I mentioned Ruminahui, they (as keen hikers themselves) offered to take me to the start of the southern route. We climbed together for a while, after which they directed me to the summit. I got lost coming back (my fault!), but they waited more than two hours for me. Later, when I offered to pay, they said, 'It is a courtesy of the guesthouse.' A truly lovely couple. My experience in Machachi couldn't have been better thanks to them. One of the best places I've stayed in Ecuador. And I loved the ancient German Shepherd that greets you at the gate!

Featuring a garden overlooking the Pasochoa Volcano, Hacienda Santa Ana is set in a charming house combining modern and antique design. It is located 7 km from Cotopaxi National Park. Excellent Property. We stayed for 2 nights two adults and two kids and we all had a great time. The service was amazing, the breakfast delicious, and the Hacienda was simply perfect! The kids loved feeding the Alpacas and the horse back riding as well. Thank you!
