Jose and Socorro have been amazing with us all around. Jose built the place himself out of lava rock. Don't expect luxury and you won't be disappointed, you're on a volcano after all. They guided us to the top of the volcano and back, accompanied us around the area and drove us back to Sao Felipe on a sunday, when no collectivos are running. A magic place, super energetic and positive hosts, great cooks and helpful hosts.

The place is very well set up and the owners are kind and helpful people. It's a family operation with lots of experience in hospitality. The rooms are clean and functional. The meals were nice too. We would definitely stay here again.

Of course, the Guesthouse is not comparable to a 3Stars hotel but when you come to this kind of place, Ciza e Rose is exactly the kind of Guesthouse you expect! Rose was born here, he is the right man at the right place and his family is very nice. Rose can speak many languages, including french. The rooms are simple but have all you need. They are big, quiet and all around a patio. Board games are available and we could play Awale and learn a new way to play with Michael, the son. The breakfast was really good and a bit different each day, with cakes... We got a lot of explanations from Rose, who is also a guide if you need. Communication was really easy with them, even before arriving. A "collectivos" picked us up at the airport and Rose organized another one to drop us to Sao Filipe. We eat at the Guesthouse in the evenings. At midday, we went several times to Isabel Restaurant ( actually Isabel is Rose's sister but we didn't know it the first time!). By the way, Rose has 6 brothers/sisters at Portela.

Casa Alcindo ligger i Chã das Caldeiras och har en bar. Hotellet har en 24-timmarsreception och en restaurang. Från lägenheten har du utsikt över bergen. The staff was super nice and the food delicious! We did the hike to the vulcano with Alcindo and it was super nice. They’ve attended all our requests, even if last minute! We definitely recommend it!

Casa Ze & sonia ligger i Portela och erbjuder utsikt över bergen, gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. Det finns ett fullt utrustat eget badrum med en dusch och gratis toalettartiklar. Ze and Sonia were super nice, friendly and accommodating. They could speak French relatively well. The room is simple but functional. The meals prepared were very delicious. The WiFi was good to work from there, and in case, the 4G antenna is located nearby. Absolutely recommended!

EcoFunco ligger i Portela. Det finns gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. En kontinental frukost serveras varje morgon på EcoFunco. Närmaste flygplats är São Filipe flygplats som ligger 40 km från boendet. Charmigt att bo i en funco med privat badrum. Fantastisk vy åt alla håll.

Cruzeiro Guest House ligger i São Filipe, en kort bit från Praia de São Filipe, och har en bar, rökfria rum samt gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. Några rum på boendet har balkong med stadsutsikt. I was upgraded to a room with balcony facing the sea. Absolutely delightful sight. Very quiet hotel with everything you need. Of course it's very impersonal, a generic hotel room, so if you're looking for an authentic Cabo Verdian experience this is not for you, but if you're looking for a clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable place to rest, it is perfect. The cleanliness was not perfect but was pretty good ; nothing too problematic. The AC is a huge advantage!
