The location was perfect for visiting the Cahuita National Park - and also close to other amenities like grocery stores and restaurants. Everything was within 5 mins walking. The host was amazing - she provided a lot of local information including best sites and shops. She even knew the 'usual spots' where sloths would hang out. Thanks to her advice we saw sloths and even kinkajous in the evening. Rooms are cozy and have everything you need: AC and hot water.

Chiara and Ray are lovely hosts: we really enjoyed chatting with them and they were always very helpful. We rented the local bikes for the day and it was such a nice activity to explore the area. This was our favorite stay in Costa Rica and would recommend it to anyone passing by Puerto Viejo. It's located a bit further out from the center, next to Playa Negra, which for us was a plus. You can enjoy the quiet and beautiful nature there. It's totally safe and not so crowded like the center. The guesthouse is clean, very nicely furnished and looked after. There are only four rooms, giving a very quiet and cosy vibe. Rooms are well finished and well proportioned with good air con and wifi. Short walk to the town and bakery for breakfast. Really well run by a lovely, accommodating family. We were gutted to leave.

The night at this hotel was basically the epitome of why I love traveling! Discover beautiful places and friendly people. Mr José and his wife Sílvia are lovely. They make wonderful homemade food and we had a really good conversation during dinner and breakfast. The property is incredible, full of details and animals! The best surprise in Costa Rica in terms of accommodation.

Most beautiful nature and animals. Quiet, clean, very friendly people, awesome dogs and an awesome pancake breakfast. Best place in the neighbourhood!
