A piece of paradise! We stayed in one of the stone houses, made our own food, sat under the wine branches. Swam in the pool. Took a lovely morning walk by the river (took left when we came to the river, found old ruins and a stream. In the evenings people sat by the main building eating tapas. Beautiful and calm atmosphere. Lovely, quiet property, yet can walk to town easily. The breakfast was the best we had in Portugal. Lots of options, including a custom-made omelet and the view from the dining room of the trees was a peaceful environment. The staff in the breakfast room were also very kind and helpful. Bruno at the front desk welcomed us warmly and was a wealth of information in recommendations for dinner and hikes in the area. Bruno was always joyful and clearly loved helping guests. A great manager for the hotel.
