The Villa de Sol is situated between Lisbon and Setubal, 3 kilometres from Sesimbra and its beaches. All the other beaches and the nature- protected hinterland around (ca. 10Km) can be reached very quickly. The area Quintinha is exclusively made up of well-built villas, really quiet, despite the local transport network with a regular bus line to the centre of Sesimbra and the beaches or to Lisbon not being far away.

Joaquin and Ann-Sophie were exceptional hosts and did everything possible (and more) to make us feel welcome. We had a breakfast feast each morning and Ann-Sophie made a special gluten-free option every time which we really appreciated. Their home is in an amazing location looking straight at Castelo de Sesimbra and is very spacious with a lovely garden and swimming pool. The location is perfect for reaching Sesimbra and the beaches (we managed very easily without a car as the taxis were cheap). We had lovely food in Sesimbra, especially the fish and would highly recommend Casa Calibris.

This was the nicest place I stayed at this time in Portugal, modern, stylish but understated, scrupulously clean, bright and airy. The host was super nice and very attentive to requests and inquiries. Breakfast was very wholesome, tasty and with genuinely regional produce. Because the property is gated, there's no problem with parking. I would love to come back and spend more time there.
