Charming hotel, great location, fantastic staff, excellent breakfast, spotless! Ideal location for visiting Vila Viçosa, Elvas, Evora and Badajoz. I recommend all future guests to take the time to meet and chat with Mrs. Manuela, co-owner of the hotel. A lady of enormous culture and personal knowledge of local and regional history. Friendly and pleasant, Dona Manuela is one more reason to stay at Hotel Colegio Velho!

I was a little concerned it would be noisy due to the location, but it was really quiet, got a really good nights sleep. The only slight niggle was the lack of private parking, although there was on street parking out the front of the hotel. The rooms were spacious, immaculately clean and the breakfast was continental, although we were offered scrambled eggs. The pool was a lovely bonus and the garden and patio area although small was delightful.StephanieYoung couple

Sr. Alberto, the owner, was exceptionally welcoming and kind, even showing me around his private museum, which is quite interesting.
