We enjoyed the Butler breakfast. We liked being able to go through the garden area and cross the street to visit Kilkenny Castle. Butler House was richly appointed and is of historical value. The staff was very accommodating, and the location could not be beat. We would not hesitate to come back for a visit.

The welcome was very warm and kind. She showed us a room where we could have a drink whenever we wanted and with nice Easter eggs. The room was very spacious and very clean, not to mention the excellent bedding where once under the comforter you didn't want to move. The bathroom with shower was perfect and bright and very clean with different elements for comfort. The breakfast was very copious and with fresh products. Honestly I can't think of a single negative point. Our host gave us information for visits in the area and explanations on different sites to visit. We had a fantastic stay at Carraig Rua. We were able to check in a little early, which meant we had more time to walk around Kilkenny, including to the Smithwick's Experience. It was an easy walk into town. Oonagh and her husband were lovely hosts, and the breakfast was amazing. We were able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the backyard.
