The Cornish Arms is a real treasure! This is a traditional fine dining pub-hotel combination, with both components fulfilling the highest standards. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very quiet (we couldn't heat the pub at all); ours had a hedgehog theme. Spent a peaceful and relaxing night in the very comfy bed. All the amenities are brand-new but well selected to reflect the historical character; nice decoration details. Check-in was smooth at the pub bar doubling as reception. Without reservation, we got a table in the restaurant downstairs, and the food was simply stunning, with local specialties reinterpreted by a splendid chef. The hotel is in the middle of the market town of Tavistock (with parking in back), just minutes away from a beautiful mountain view of Dartmoor (check out the sunset). Picked up lots of souvenirs in the local deli (around the corner) and farmers' market, all within walking distance.

Everything. Friendly welcome, lovely bedroom with all you could need, modern ensuite shower room, beautifully presented continental breakfast in a dining room with great views. Our hosts couldn't have been better.

Large, comfortable room; great location by the River Tavy and only a couple of minutes walk from the top of the main shopping street; friendly and knowledgable hosts who made an effort to learn every guest's name; generous and tasty breakfast.

Location - a pretty village with interesting houses, lanes, bridges, and the lovely sound of the river gently flowing. Wonderful, friendly welcoming staff Delicious fresh tasty food in the restaurant. Very comfortable bed, all the facilities we needed.

A very kind welcome and a last minute room change accommodated professionally (my mistake for having booked the wrong type of room). An excellent cooked breakfast, and a very comfortable sleep. Ideal location for the Tamara Coast to Coast Way! Thank you very much.

The room was large and the bathroom was also a big one . We had a lovely courtyard . The host and hostess were very nice and made me some lovely vegetarian meals
