Mike was a wonderful host, kind, accommodating and helpful! The rooms were spotless, comfortable and equipped with everything a traveler would need. I'm not sure which view was more spectacular from the bedroom or the sitting room both incredible. It was a scenic and short walk to the lovely village. We enjoyed Tweedle's so much for dinner we went back for breakfast. I didn't realize how much I would enjoy the lake county and look forward to another visit and stay at the Chestnut Villa. Thank you Mike and staff! ;)

Had a lovely stay at The Swan. The staff are very nice, the breakfast is wonderful and they are accommodating to allergies (gluten free diet in my case - got gluten free toast each morning and advice about all the items on the menu). Lovely location with plenty of parking. Rooms were warm, spacious and comfortable.

Unfortunately it rained for the two days we were there, so we spent alot of time in our lovely room and bath. So nice. Breakfast was wonderful. A nice respite in the middle of a busy trip.

The breakfast was very good, buffet of cereal, juice, fresh fruit and yogurt, as well as a choice of a hot breakfast, plus tea, coffee, toast. My room was clean and serviced every day. Very comfortable bed, was a wide single. Dinner was good, especially chicken curry and fish and chips and very reasonable prices. As a resident I could book a room for dinner as needed, even at short notice. Rydal is a great location for walkers, I didn't use my car all week.
