Loved the full English breakfast; very clean room facing the backyard. Location across the street from the water, about a 20-minute walk to High Street and the central part of town, a few local pubs nearby. Far enough from the touristy stuff that the immediate vicinity was quiet. Very friendly owner was home when I arrived slightly before check-in, and she let me in early as the room was ready. The room had a 3-ring binder with local information and suggestions of things to do; I followed one suggestion to walk to Leigh-on-Sea, described as "an energetic walk of an hour", turned out to be closer to 12 km (2+ hours), but was still a lovely walk that I never would have known about had it not been in her book.

I would have no hesitation whatsoever revisiting if I ever have to stay in that area again. Very private and lovely and quiet. I was there for 3 days, and I had everything I needed provided for me.
