Fantastic bed and breakfast in the epicentre of lovely Cartmel. Communication with Rachel prior to arrival was perfect. The hotel is beautiful, both the public areas and the room in which we stayed. The room, recently re-decorated, is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Modern bathroom, super comfrotable bed, tea kettle/espresso machine - who needs more? Breakfast was stellar, be it the full English or the continental. We'll be delighted to come back and we thank Rachel for making our weekend in Cartmel special!

Staff are excellent, as is the breakfast. Just want you expect from a country inn. The quirkiness give it character.

Location, peaceful, lots of windows and fresh air, quality host, newly remodeled, jacuzzi tub, big space, kitchen facilities in room, ambiance, decor.

Our stay at Somerset house was amazing. The host is welcoming. I would hugely recommend this B&B. The host serves more than scrumptious breakfast with more options than I expected. The house is kept well and room was spacious and clean. Overall area is also good, just 20-25 mins drive from Winderemere.

Fond memories of our night at the Engine Inn. Mostly of the cheeky bartender and a couple on a getaway weekend. (Babs, you know i'm talking about you!) Food was great, company was great. Together with family, it was a good night in Holker!!
