We, a couple from Germany, felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay at Hotspur House very much. Liz, our host, invited us to delicious homemade scones. Our room was comfortable and decorated tastefully. Breakfast was extraordinary. Liz helped us with finding nice places to dine and even arranged a booking for us. We can definitely recommend Hotspur House :-)

Large comfortable house with artefacts, mostly cat-related, from around the world. Several live cats too. Good breakfast - grapefruit, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cooked breakfast. Wifi worked. Quiet location but close to the local town, which has pubs, a cafe, a shop, and a Dalek! Excellent for walks and industrial archaeology (lead mining).

Happy from the moment we parked in front of Shaftoe's Bridge, went inside and were immediately offered tea, coffee and biscuits. Incredible welcome and friendly, attentive service. Haydon Bridge village is so beautiful - this B&B sits next to the river with easy access to several pubs/eating places within walking distance. Very comfortable bedrooms with thoughtful amenities (only equalled in our London accommodation), sparkling clean, great showers, personal touches abound throughout the property. We loved it and hope to return.

The host was incredibly nice, he welcomed us and gave us a lift to the hadrian wall path in the car the next morning. The B&B is perfect for walkers, it even has a small closet where we could dry our clothes. The room was very quiet.
