I’ve strayed in several places in outside of Aix and this location and lodging is by far the best. Sitting on a very comfortable with a glass of chilled rosé on the terrace or by the pool with the sound of the cigales in the background. It is the Provençal moment. The beds are excellent, the kitchen and bathroom like new and A/C works very well which is important in the summer. You can walk 3 minutes one way to a centre sportif with playground, sports fields, tennis courts and hiking trails. To the other direction you walk 3 minutes to Domaine de L’Olibaou where you taste and purchase rosé, rouge and olive oil made on the premises. Walking the quiet roads of olive trees on one side and grapes on the other, you are experiencing bliss. The hosts are very accommodating and also allow you to be indépendant. The pool is shared between the three lodgings and there is plenty of space for everyone. Parking in Aix is very challenging, so you have the bus from Venelles that takes you to Aix in 18 minutes. Highly recommend for market days. The walk to Venelles is nice with a pedestrian bridge over the highway. Finally, we appreciated the plancha for cooking outside.

It is hard to summarise everything in few sentences. However, if i have to say something in short: it was our best ever experience. Helene went beyond any expectation: the place, the breakfast, her kindness, the quality of the accomodation and all small details which made our stay remarkable.

The rooms (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, sitting room) were superbly laid out for us - we were able to relax and enjoy a couple of days golfing and exploring Aix. The owners were so welcoming and friendly and helpful and interesting - left us to our own but also on hand for advice. They also solved a problem with our bikes with no fuss or both. A fantastic place to stay.

This place is a rare gem! Amazing experience in the heart of the French Provence, many many thanks to the hosts Esther and Alexei and their lovely dog Charlie. Just a few minutes away from the city centre,quiet place and beautiful nature. The garden is a must-see. So far, the best place to see in the Aix. Fast wifi, the room is spacious and the bed is super comfortable.

I absolutely adore this place so much. This house has exceeded my expectations. I love how clean, modern, and charming this property is. I feel very comfortable and safe staying here. Esther is so wonderful and welcoming. I love her hospitality towards my stay. My morning breafast was delightful. I had no problem using Uber to get to town from where this property is, as it's not too far out. I love the beautiful and well kept the gardens are. To sit and watch the sunsets every day whilst I was there truly felt so magical. I will definitely come back and stay here again. Whilst I didn't have time to use the swimming pool, I felt happy to sit and soaking up sunny weather by the pool. I felt relaxed and calm being there.

The Old Bastide and Grounds were absolutely gorgeous with two pools, small olive grove sprinkled with sun lounges, fabulous outdoor dining space under a sprawling shade tree and beside a mirror pond. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of local produce which was delicious. Rooms were tastefully renovated with all modern amenities and comfy bed and pillows. Our stay was so relaxing and we felt very spoilt by the staff. Many thanks, we will return. Jodie
