The breakfast was totally French and fine for us. The coffee was great. The hosts were the nicest people we could ever have met. They made us feel so welcome and could not do enough for us. They are the kind of people you want to be friends with forever. The whole house is incredibly clean and comfortable and charming. We enjoyed mornings and evenings on the terrace looking out onto the beautiful mountain scenery and the organic swimming pool. The bed was extremely comfortable; the shower was fine with plenty of hot water; it was cool at night so we did not need air conditioning.

This was the first time I had been to Sisteron, and what a beautiful town. L'Oustalet is an absolute gem! I had access to all the facilities one could need; microwave, kettle, fridge and shower, and one of the comfiest beds I have slept on. The view of the mountains was just outstanding. The breakfast the owner - and what a great host - provided was sensational; all kinds of bread, jams, home-made pancakes, cheeses and ham, and I definitely recommend this accommodation.

I stayed here end January 2023 while doing a one-week course at the nearby Ecole internationale de la boulangerie (EIDB). Beautiful, very comfortable and cozy room, once part of a pre 1800 barn, on what was a former silk farm. I had breakfast every day at €10, which was very tasty and very generous and catered to all tastes. The owners kindly and flexibly adapted to my class schedule and served breakfast at 0630. I had five 3-course dinners at €23, and again the owners flexibly adapted to my vegetarian preferences and I had great dinners. The location is quiet and rural, with lovely views and surroundings, very peaceful. And truly very enjoyable, welcoming and comfortable. A great place to stay when doing a one-week EIDB course, when you might feel too tired after intensive days to opt for self-catering accommodation. I stayed in the room, not the bigger gite. The room is lovely, close to the swimming pool, and very cosy, even in freezing temps. Smart TV, kettle and Nespresso machine in the room very comfortable bed and very good bathroom. Thoughtfully supplied with plenty of sockets to charge phones, etc.
