Le Clos de la Barre was perfect for our needs. Our family of 4 stayed in the loft and it was spacious, extremely clean, fully equipped with very comfortable beds. Parking is plentiful and very accessible directly in front of the inn. The couple who own the property are the warmest and friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Our continental breakfast was so beautifully prepared and presented. The location is perfect for exploring the D-Day beaches and memorials.

Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The room was a good size with an excellent bed. The property was very interesting, well decorated and quaint, and included an interesting garden along with a stream. From this location we were easily able to drive to Juno Beach and to the interesting town of Bayeux. Our breakfast was very good and was served in a converted stable.

The owners and inn itself were wonderful. The Inn itself appears to be older but renovated in a way that was complementary to the original buildings. Our son loved the pool and the games in the common area and the snacks and food that were available for guests were varied and delicious. We enjoyed some of the local cider and apple juice, as well as a charcuterie board for dinner. Breakfast was continental and delicious, with crepes and home-made jam, fresh eggs and pastries. One bonus of our visit was from an exuberant and absolutely adorable golden retriever puppy who wanted our charcuterie as we lounged outside for dinner. I would go back to Normandy just to stay at Le Domaine de l’Hostellerie a little longer.

Jennine was a very helpful friendly host, and as we spoke very little French, she really tried her best with communicating in English. This gave us many laughs. We enjoyed the location, far enough away from the noise and just a 5 minute drive to a beach and a number of centres.
