Château de Flottemanville is a castle style mansion that dates back to the 13th century. We LOVED the medieval character of the chateau and of our room. We stayed in The Room in the Château, which is the only guest room that is actually located in the main building. The room as well as the bathroom are very large. We felt like nobility for the night! The chateau is located on a very large property in a rural area with no neighbors in site or hearing distance. Quiet, relaxing, peaceful, tranquil. A very nice breakfast was included and served by the host in the main building. The host/owner was very friendly. She is fluent in English, was very informative and took her time to answer all our burning questions about this wonderful chateau. Would definitely stay here again if we would ever be in the area again. Although located in a rural area, there is lots to explore in nearby: 16 minutes to Sainte-Mère-Église, 25 minutes to Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, 28 minutes to Barfleur, 28 minutes to Utah Beach. For dinner, I highly recommend restaurant Auberge du Pont Cochon (La Route Des Pâtes), just a 10 minute walk from the chateau. Steaks are grilled to perfection on the grill in a huge wood burning fire place that is located in the seating area of the restaurant.

Although the property was down a small country lane it was very easy to find if using sat nav or the written instructions. Bed was very confortable and everything was very clean. I found a "Diamond in a Hay Stack" at La Ptite Normande! The house was built in 1687 (336 years ago), all remodeled and absolutely the most comfortable, clean and well furnished B&B! Our Hosts, Frank and Flo were wonderful, I can suggest everyone to book a night or so and also learn how great of a time we had! The property is nestled a few kilometers from other larger towns, very quiet and offers one of the "Best-Seen-to-Date" experiences I have had. Grade 5 STAR!!!
