We received a warm welcome from our host and he was really accommodating from the start about finding space for our bikes in his garden. He saw that we are tall people and offered us another bedroom with a large double bed, instead of the twin room we had originally booked. He was discrete, extremely helpful, and due to our dreadful efforts at speaking French, he was more than happy to speak English with us. The breakfast was beautiful in its simplicity; fresh, delicious, local products and all served in the charming, tasteful decor of such an elegant house. We booked rather late, so didn’t have great expectations, but we were overwhelmed by our good luck, and managed to visit impressive Combourg. We loved it so much we tried to get an extra night, but it was naturally booked up!

Such a lovely property. We were very happy with our choice of accommodation on a very brief visit to the Rennes area. We found the hosts exceptionally friendly, and we were very relaxed in the lovely sitting room and breakfast areas. We will definitely book a longer stay at Maison d`hotes les Escures when we visit the area again.

Exceptional Chateaux in rural setting. Interior has been totally renovated and tastefully decorated with modern and period pieces. Beautiful environment with space to explore if you have time. Charming host who couldn't have done more for us, spoke English too which is very helpful. Breakfast in the largest room with huge exposed beams for the ceiling and glorious artifacts from French history. It was like being transported back in time. We are looking forward to our next visit.
