We can’t wait for our next trip to France so that we can return to the Castel de la Comtesse! The stunning decor and beautifully appointed apartment made us feel like royalty. Our hosts spoiled us with delicious breakfasts, wonderful conversations, and great restaurant and château recommendations. These are open, warm, and caring people who pay attention to every detail of their guests’ experience. Our kids loved them and discovered with glee their beautiful cat and collection of classic French games and Tintin comics. We feel so lucky to have found these talented hosts and their gorgeous guest rooms in the most historic part of Blois. Did I mention the breath-taking view on the château, old town, and Loire river from our window?

Julia was an excellent hostess, aware of every need and wanting to give us a quality experience. Breakfast was delicious and filling, with the best croissants I had in my 3 weeks in France. The room was exactly as pictured in Booking. The environment was low key and relaxing.

Fantastic breakfast, strong coffee! The hosts have a lot of visitor information and history of Blois and the surrounding areas. As most euro stays there is stairs to climb, no big deal. The location is great, a five minute walk downtown. Hosts installed air condition for the recent hot spell, worked great.

Easy walking distance to everywhere, with a carpark opposite (though limited to 2 hours between 0900 and 1800). Friendly and helpful host. We were in the Purple and Gold room at the top. Wonderful view over the town and the Loire. Generous breakfast with local products such as jam, cheese, and yoghurt. Large, comfy, and quiet bedroom, we slept very well. Recommended!

The host met us and offered a chilled glass of wine on our arrival, helped with a map and recommendations and even booked a restaurant from one of the recommendations and the food was delicious. The bedroom was huge with a comfortable bed, great bedding, pillows etc with large shuttered windows. A lovely space, as is the garden.

There is a quaint atmosphere that is still there even though the premises have been completely refurbished. The italian shower is brand new and the beds were good in a quiet room. The kids loved the breakfast with delicious bread and croissants from a good bakery and freshly made scrambled eggs. The location opposite the train station and close to the city centre is ideal.

The rockery gardens were attractively arranged around a recent asphalt-covered drive near the owner's house. There is a visitor's parking space halfway down the long pebbled drive.
