Hovedmålet for vår reise den dagen var Waterloo og vi hadde ønsket oss overnatting på et sted som ikke var langt unna. Vi ankom med bil fra Épinal i Frankrike. GPS-en klarte å veilede oss gjennom de små veiene i et frodig grønt landskap. Vi ble tatt imot av Mme Chantal (vikar for vertene). Hun viste oss huset vi skulle bo i og vi ble alle sjarmert fra første øyeblikk. Vi hadde bestilt to rom: et til vår tante på 77 år og et til oss to. Huset lå i en liten park, bak hovedhuset. Rommene var på bakkenivå, vi kunne parkere bilen rett foran huset. Rommene var som tvillinger, men hvert og et av dem hadde sitt eget særpreg. Tante valgte "Det grå rommet", vi to bodde på "Det blå rommet". Hvert rom hadde en stor og god dobbeltseng med flust av puter, salongbord med to stoler, stor kommode, et avlastningsbord med vannkoker og kaffemaskin. Speil på veggen, som var inndelt i små ruter og så ut som et ekstra vindu. Romslig og rent bad inndelt i to: toalett og vask med toalettsaker og dusjområde. Mange håndklær. Plating foran rommene, med bord og stoler. Der spiste vi frokost dagen etter. Den ble båret til oss og servert av Mme Chantal og hennes medhjelper. Fantastiske lokale bakverk, flere typer pålegg, nypresset appelsinjuice og frukt, kanne med nytrukket kaffe, mugge med melk, tevann og teposer. Og der satt vi og nøt frokosten og omgivelsene og ønsket oss et par-tre ekstra dager fri, slik at vi kunne være der litt lenger. Stedet anbefales på det varmeste!

The owner is fantastic, very nice and everything was great. The place is located away from the city which provides a very peaceful stay while being so close to Waterloo.

A cozy hidden gem, beautiful cottage with very nice surrounding, very quiet and relaxing. The host is amazing and friendly, we had great discussions over breakfast, made me feel at home.

Great breakfast and very friendly and accommodating host. The location is beautiful in the midst of an amazing park and garden and sufficiently close to many places of interest. It is an entire one bedroom chalet with small living room , kitchen , separate WC and two bathrooms as well as patio and garden, all surrounded by greenery and flowers.

I liked the energy of the house, and the owners, bit old and simple accomodation, not the modern, artificially ventilated rooms. It’s like a home, but with your own privacy. It’s really the old style B&B, in the house with the owners, who do their without interfering. On occasional interesting talk is also possible.

Excellent stay, full marks to Céleste, the owner of this place. We extended for 2 more days after initially booking only for 1 night. This place is in the middle of a farm on the country side but not too far from Brussels. Céleste is a very courteous host who treats you like a family. It was one of my most memorable stay after a long time. The breakfast comes from farm fresh eggs & vegetables. The rooms a very clean & quiet, Its almost spiritual. Thanks to Céleste & wishing her the very best.

The flat was spacious, light, clean, had its own entrance, good WIFI, and parking for two cars.It was comfortable, warm and had all the necessary amenities to make for a very enjoyable stay. The hosts were welcoming, very responsive, generous, helpful, yet respectful of our space.There was a lovely continental breakfast, with choice of coffee/tea, yogurt, fruit, homemade jam, baked goods, and cheese for a small add on fee.The hosts very kindly set the breakfast table with our selected breakfast choice each morning. The delicious bread and baked goods were bought fresh every morning. We appreciated having this option. Thank you so much. We loved our stay and hope to return.

Booked this last minute as a weekend getaway after our marriage. Only found out it was linked with a very fancy restaurant when we arrived. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We got the chance to eat the menu of the restaurant in our room, as the restaurant was of course fully booked. The breakfast was delicious and plenty. The rooms are very clean and look brand new.
