A peaceful paradise right on the lake. I came here for a mini retreat and it was so perfect. The family are so warm and friendly and took such beautiful care of me. The food was absolutely delicious too! I didn’t leave the place for 2 whole days and had everything I needed in one place.

Gorgeous location on the lake, surrounded by wild life and a beautiful nature. Very spacious, comfortable, and clean room. Clean and spacious bathroom. The host family is very sweet. They take great care of you, and you only have to ask. Nice and clean sharing kitchen with a conventional oven and electric kettle. Sudhu organizes boat tours on the lake to Bird Island, Temple Island, and Cinnamon Island, which I highly recommend if you're interested in the traditional making of cinnamon. Don't miss lunch or dinner at Kola restaurant, on the lake too. Sudhu can take you there by boat, too. If you're fortunate, you might even spot a crocodile cruising in the water. This is an ideal accommodation for a relaxing, peaceful, stay in the midst of nature and with a wonderful, caring family. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, so we extended our stay to 3 nights and will be back before leaving SL. This location is for nature lovers: we saw eagles, cormorants, fish, monkeys, squirrels, all types of birds, lizards, geckos, and 1 croc in the lake. Nature also means ants and other insects that can share your bathroom at times. Nothing much you can do abt it, but if you dislike sharing with small critters, then you should avoid nature.

Spacious and clean rooms. The place is right in front of the beach with a beautiful terrace where breakfast and dinner can be served. The meals are super tasty and last but not least the staff is super friendly. The big plus is that during the night and early in the morning, the only thing that can be heard is the ocean :)

I’ve booked for 3 nights and I ended up staying 1 week. I would have stayed more if I could. Next time I come I will def stay here. It’s perfect for digital nomads. I felt like I was living there. The owner and all the staff are soooo friendly and they make you feel at home. Best part is the food of the cafe and restaurant. They do theme nights at the restaurant and fortunately my last night, Angelo Saltamonte, an amazing Italian singer was performing and it was the perfect way of saying goodbye to Sri Lanka. Couldn’t have been a better place to stay.

I cannot thank the owners enough of this guest house. I was involved in an incident which resulted in being admitted into hospital, and the owner went above and beyond to make sure I was okay, checking in with me at the hospital and bringing me food. I’ve never seen such kindness in all my life. The location is amazing and the room was a good size with a nice clean bathroom. They sorted a bike out for me no problem, and are just the most amazing people! Thank you again so much! Definitely recommend!

This family run business is headed by Nimal, who looked after me very well. It’s a lovely setting, room was very clean, i got a big breakfast everyday - and it’s great value for those travelling on a budget. Thanks!

Awesome place in nature, very quiet and 5 min from the beach. The host is super kind and always ready to help (in addition she’s a great cook). I loved staying here and would definitely recommend it!
