We loved everything about our stay in Cabañas Tico Gringo. Yainer and Sonia are very kind and attentive hosts. The hotel is a 15-minute walk (slightly uphill) from the beach, so Yainer was so kind to pick us up from our boatride and also drove us to all the meeting points for the tours and the boatride back. Its possible to book all the tours at the hotel, for example a Corcovado Day Tour, Snorkeling at Cano Island and a Jungle Night Tour to name a few. We were super happy with the Corcovado Day Tour that was arranged for us. It was also possible to arrange the boat from Sierpe to Drake Bay and vice versa with Yainer and Sonia beforehand, so we didnt have to worry about it. We were in contact with them via whatsapp, which was super convenient, as we speak nearly no spanish. We also heard super good things about the snorkeling tour, but didnt participate as we wanted to relax from our long 7-week trip. And for relaxation, the hotel was also perfect. We had our own 2-room cabin, from which we had a super lovely private balcony where we saw monkey, parrots, colibris and tucans. The kitchen was equipped with a small electric stove (less strong than the gas ones), coffee machine, huge fridge with icebox and a blender. Water to drink, coffee, salt and sugar was already provided, so that was a noce surprise. The rooms were super clean and there was A/C, which we really appreciated after sleeping in a lot of hot dorm rooms with only fan. It didnt bother us that it was a bit more far from town, as Drake Bay itself is super small anyway, all the restaurants and three good supermarkets were in 5-10 minutes walking distance. There is also the possible to walk further away from Town into the jungle to waterfalls in about one hour. All in all, its a bit more pricey in comparison to the other accomodations we stayed at during our journey, but its was totally worth it it we would not want to stay anywhere else in Drake Bay in the future!!!

Spectacular setting, the kindest family possible, excellent food, and attentiveness from Christian made this a special stay. A real family experience in the middle of nature with empty beaches and world class nature and hiking trails on your doorstep. And the feeling that you were with a real Costa Rica family, spending money where it should go.

Gute Lage am Rand von Drake Bay. Schön und ruhig mit Sicht auf die schöne Vegetation. Gutes Restaurant im Hotel. Personal sehr höflich und hilfsbereit im Hotel und im Restaurant.

It was very authentic in the middle of the forest and Maria and Sebas, are the perfect hosts. They are always prone to help with anything you might need. All the facilities were very clean, including warm water (we read it did not had, but it has) It was 20 min walking from Drake Bay with a nice route from the forest to the beach. I you do not want to walk, Sebas can pick you up or they call a taxi for you. It was an amazing stay!

Der Blick von der Terrasse ist wunderschön. Man könnte es dort den ganzen Tag dort in der Hängematte aushalten. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, authentisch und angenehm. Insbesondere Martin hilft bei jeder Gelegenheit. Das trägt ebenfalls dazu bei, dass man sich direkt wohlfühlt. Das Frühstück ist üppig, sodass man für eine Wanderung im Corcovado gut vorbereitet ist.

The whole place was perfect! Groceries and restaurants within walking distance. Near all of our tour pickup spots. Beautiful ocean view. The air conditioning was a blessing as it was so hot and humid. Vincent went out of his way to provide a mangrove tour. Will definitely stay here again!

It’s a small place with a nice garden, therefore it’s pretty calm. The room’s decoration looks very good. Really loved the vibe of this place and the food they serve is delicious. The owners of the place are very nice and helpful! They have two lovely dogs as well. You can book tours directly from them and they have a laundry service as well.

Der Aufenthalt war ein Highlight unserer Costa Rica Reise. Die Unterkunft bzw das Gelände von Elmer ist nur zu Fuß durch den Dschungel über Treppen und Flüsse zu erreichen. Das Gelände ist eine wunderschöne und aufregende Oase mitten im Dschungel. Die Bungalows sind direkt am Fluss mit guten Moskitonetzen. Wer eine direkte und natürliche Dschungel Erfahrung mit sehr netten Gastgeber möchte ist hier richtig! Der Gastgeber ist außerdem ein extrem guter Koch, eins der besten Essen in Costa Rica.

The place is very nice, green and beautiful. From the property we saw a lot of birds :). Nelson is super responsive host, and help us a lot during our stay. For example he pick us from the scuba center, drive us to pick our bag and then take us to the beach to take the boat.

Cathy ist eine bezaubernde Gastgeberin und hat für uns alle Touren organisiert und war immer für uns da, wenn wir etwas gebraucht haben. Sie hat uns sogar durch das Dorf geführt und uns alles gezeigt und erklärt. Ihr Haus ist super ausgestattet und gepflegt.
