The hosts were very communicative and helpful throughout the trip. Anna even brought over a special birthday treat for me. The apartment was very large and quite well organized. The beds were comfortable and it was great to have a washer, dryer, and full kitchen. The location was amazing - right next to a grocery store and easy walk to everything in town.

Leiden is a beautiful little city. Familie Quellhorst is in a surprisingly convenient location to the shopping center of Leiden (very short walk over). The little apartment feels like a home away from home -- it is cheery, cozy, comfortable, and equipped with a kitchen and a generously sized table in the living room that we used to play board games/card games on. Every morning we were greeted by the host's chickens on our way out of the gate. The Dutch stairs on the property are odd if you're not used to them, but it was fun to get used to navigating them as they showed up all through the Netherlands throughout our stay. The property is quiet in the morning -- you can watch people as they go by on their bikes and hear the birds singing and the church bells ringing as you wake up. This, for us, was a picturesque, peaceful, and soul-soothing stay, and we couldn't be happier with the place.

Clearly, much thought had gone into what guests might need on holiday. Everything was there, in the right places. We felt at home right away. My daughter loved the bunk beds and being so close to nature. (Watching the ducks swim across the pond in the evening was much better than any TV!) The trampoline was also great fun. All in all, a wonderful place to stay. If we ever come back to Leiden, we'll certainly book again. Thank you for providing a home away from home!

It was great to sit out on the deck and over look the fields and enjoy a cold drink after a busy day of sightseeing. The apartment is a few minutes "off the beaten path", but well worth the extra effort if you appreciate peace and quiet at the end of the day. Bathroom/kitchen/living area were all very nice - we were certainly comfortable.

Since the apartments are located next to the farm, we asked if we could probably buy some milk from it. Mr. Horts have brought it to us for free! Such personal attitude is worthy.
